From Wood to Shining Steel
The owners of this private residence in Colorado Springs brought Rocky Mountain Metalcraft to help totally remodel their home. The original stairway was traditional wood framed and drywalled— very typical closed appearance. This family wanted a significant change, and the change was a brilliant one!
These stair stringers and tread frames are made of carbon steel with random-scratch finish. The railing is 304 stainless steel pipe with horizontals from the House of Forgings stainless steel picket line. Our crew had to splice them on to make them fit. The tread frames are back lit with a light system to illuminate the 1-¼” thick tempered glass treads.
